A recent article by Peter Gosselin does an excellent job documenting the employment challenges faced by Americans aged 50 and over. Gosselin cites new data analysis by ProPublica and the Urban Institute that shows more than half of older U.S. workers are pushed out of longtime jobs before they choose to retire, often suffering damaging financial loss and significant difficulty in finding new employment. One of the great pleasures of our monthly HLSA networking mixers is meeting representatives from the wonderful businesses around San Antonio and learning more about them. The Health Cell Hosts a Boot Camp for Healthtech Startups on May 11th-13th, 2018
Our friends at The Health Cell are hosting a three-day boot camp for entrepreneurs looking to start or join a healthtech company. The event will take place at Geekdom from Friday, May 11th, to Sunday, May 13th, and will, according to Xconomy correspondent, David Holley, “offer prospective executives mentorship and classes from local experts in medical, technology, and business fields, according to the organizer, The Health Cell, a life sciences and healthcare-focused group that was founded in 2013. The schedule includes classes on topics such as giving an elevator pitch, customer validation, and regulatory and legal issues in creating a healthtech company.”
