Dr. Sarah Bodner on Good and Bad (Office) Politics

Corporate politics are a fact of life, and many of us who have worked in healthcare would probably say they are more prevalent in our industry than in any other. The reality is that they are universal and one must be able to navigate them successfully. But you don’t necessarily have to become a pirate to sail those waters. Instead, read Dr. Sarah Bodner’s excellent blog, “Taking the ‘Ick’ Out of Office Politics” here.

And be sure to watch her brief video on the topic as well.

Simon Sinek: How Great Leaders Inspire Action

Take some time while you’re here to watch this inspiring TED Talk by Simon Sinek, on how great leaders inspire action. In Simon’s words, “People don’t but what you do, they buy what you believe. And what you do simply proves what you believe.” While the video dates to 2009, some life lessons bear repetition, and Simon is a compelling speaker. Enjoy.
